The Montessori Approach

StepByStep_Montessori_mm1913Maria Montessori was born in Italy in 1870 and began her professional life as a doctor of medicine.

She then studied education, psychology and anthropology. Her unique approach to the teaching of children brought her world acclaim.

It is based on the notion that young children actively enjoy learning and that adults learn about children’s progress through observation.

Direct observation of the children in our Montessoris is the key to the teacher’s understanding of each child and enables their learning needs to be met individually.
